IMWA held 2nd EC meeting:
The Executive Committee members of IMWA meet during first
Friday of every month. This time Br. Mohammed Manshauddin
hosted the EC meeting at his Salmiya apartment on Friday,
6th July 2007. The meeting commenced with the recitation of
the verses from Holy Qur’an at 4.15 pm. The Committee
reviewed and adopted the minutes of previous meeting.
Islamic Cell convener, Br. Nooruddin Yusuf presented new
proposals that may be adopted for this tenure. Conducting
Da’wa programs, Tajweed classes, Islamic lectures are some
of highlights of the proposal.
Mass media Cell also has come up with attractive proposals
for the present term, which the EC confirmed. Journalism
workshop for selected IMWA members, periodical newsletter,
magazine during next AGM, community info on IMWA website and
so on were included in the proposal.
IMWA has been conducting annual outdoor programs for school
children in Kuwait during summer vacations. Since the
weather in this summer is not ideal for outdoor activities,
it was decided that the outdoor activities will be conducted
after the summer vacation. Br. Salim Desai, along with the
members of Education Cell, is planning to conduct some
interesting outdoor activities for the children. Details
will be published in our website shortly.
Meeting of Islamic Cell:
Members of Islamic Cell also met separately in the same
evening to discuss the next Late Abdullah Hamza Dalvi
Ramadhan Competitions for the children of Indian Schools
in Kuwait. The Cell discussed as to explore the best method
of conducting competitions which will be more useful and
result oriented for the students. In-sha-Allah, further
details and dates of the events will soon be posted on the
IMWA’s website

Message from the Ex
President:
I
am delighted to learn that the present Executive Committee
of IMWA has come up with ‘New Voice of IMWA’ as a web based
fortnightly. This shows the great enthusiasm and commitment
of the new members to propagate and promote the basic aims
of IMWA to educate and enlighten the community on various
topics in our day to day life, and of course giving
importance to spread the message of Islam. It is only the
love of our beloved Prophet (may peace be upon him) and
Islamic values that is a binding factor for us to work
together for the betterment of total humanity.
Today if we are left behind it is only because of our own
short comings. We need to increase our mass communication
for a better understanding. Our voice needs to be heard to
remove all the misunderstandings towards Islam. We need to
work hard for its propagation, in the right direction
following the path of Qur'an and Sunnah.
Islam believes and promotes social and economic justice,
seeking knowledge and to propagate education. The New voice
of IMWA is a step taken in this direction by the present
team of IMWA.
I
congratulate the Mass Media Cell and all the members of the
Executive Committee and I have sanguine hope that the
present EC will work hard with sincerity, dedication and
enthusiasm for consistently publishing IMWA's e-zine. I
earnestly request all our members to contribute articles to
appear on these pages in the days to come.
Qur’anic Wisdom
Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship
none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or
both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a
word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms
of honour. And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of
humility, and say: "My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even
as they cherished me in childhood." Your Lord knoweth best
what is in your hearts: If ye do deeds of righteousness,
verily He is Most Forgiving to those who turn to Him again
and again (in true penitence).
- Qur’an 17: 23 – 25
Prophetic Wisdom
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger
(may peace be upon him) as saying: Six are the rights of a
Muslim over another Muslim. It was said to him: Allah's
Messenger, what are these? Thereupon he said: When you meet
him, offer him greetings (Salam); when he invites you to a
feast accept it. when he seeks your council give him, and
when he sneezes and says: "All praise is due to Allah," you
say: "Yarhamuk Allah" (may Allah show mercy to you); and
when he falls ill visit him; and when he dies follow his
bier.
